A student at Francisco Middle School in San Francisco was stabbed early Friday afternoon, according to San Francisco Unified School District officials.

The student, whose identity, age or grade level were not released, was stabbed at 12:45 p.m. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said, and is in stable condition, according to schools spokesperson Laura Dudnick said. The district did not say who stabbed the student or where the attack occurred.

The school was briefly in a lockdown that ended at 1:30 p.m. but “there is no active threat to the school community,” Dudnick said.

Police did not provide further details.

The stabbing followsa Wednesday incident at another San Francisco middle schoolin which two students were detained after a gun was found at Denman Middle School during an altercation. No shots were fired and the gun was not used in a threatening manner, according to San Francisco police. The gun was seized as part of an investigation into the incident.
